We are a cycling club
established in 1949 and based in Birdwell, an ex-coalmining village near
Barnsley in the South Yorkshire area of the UK. Our membership
catchment area extends across Barnsley, Sheffield and Rotherham.

Time Trialling, Road Racing and Triathlon. Throughout the year there are
training rides at the weekends and, in the summer, on mid-week evenings
too. Time Trials, Youth League Circuit Races and Audax rides (designed
to be testing for all but not really comptetitive) are organised by
members of the club. On the non-competitive side of cycling, there are
'club-run' rides each Sunday and most Wednesdays - non-members are
welcome to join us on these: just make contact and we'll advise.
events go beyond the Friday get-togethers at the clubroom and the
annual evening out for a meal and a prize presentation. Quiz nights are
organised, and visits to the bowling alley and 'the dogs' also take

the Pennine hills, the Lincolnshire levels and the cycling conditions
inherent to each.

well as key stretches of the Trans-Pennine Trail. The club's regular
meeting place is in Birdwell Community Centre, at the end of on
Rockingham Street, which leads directly off the A61 as it passes through
Birdwell. (Map) Our meetings take place in a room to the left of the Centre, from 8.30 pm onwards on most Fridays.
